Today is the first day of Summer. How’s that?! I took my brother’s motorcycle to work and then to the dentist and it was gorgeous out. I could see blue sky and white clouds in my rear view mirror, the temperature was just right. Thunder clouds moved in but we didn’t get a whole lot of rain. Ahh. I am really a big fan of summer in general. There’s the social aspect: Winter means hibernation. The casual talks on the sidewalks are limited to “Hi, How are you?” while people run from their cars to the house to escape the cold. Then there’s the sun factor. Too much grey skies and treeless leave days makes Bonnie an irritable person. Thunderstorms are nice though. You feel the cool air rushing around after the heat has hung around for a while, the trees rustle and the sky grows darker by the second. Then you unplug the router and lose internet access :P

Oh, but the crispness of the air in the fall is so lovely. And there are so many fun things about the winter, even though I don’t like feeling cold (who does?!). And Spring is pretty much unbeatable. Hello Spring green and flower buds. I’ll just say I’m a big fan of seasons in general. I’m guessing that’s not very original ;)

Hannah’s bunny chewed a hole in my shirt this morning. Thankfully it was an old shirt that already had holes in it. I am amazed at just how sharp his teeth are! How frightening, if he decided to chew on fingers :P He gives warning though, when he rapidly paws at you with his front legs you know he’s preparing to bite something! He’s awfully cute though :D

Oh yeah, back to the point of my title! While I was at the dentist the thunderclouds rolled in and she let me leave before they took xrays (which I wasn’t decided to do anyhow, but they’ll do them when I come in for the second appointment I’m supposed to have) because she knew I was on a motorcycle and she thought it would be nasty to get caught in a downpour. And I agreed with her, since I didn’t have any rain gear. Up to my trip to the dentist I’ve never ridden the bike downtown, it’s always been up the road to the more rural parts of town. And I discovered how fun it is to be the first person in line at the lights and to take off after a red light turns to green. I think I know now why some people like standards transmissions instead of automatic. I don’t know if I’d like to deal with it all of the time, but it surely is nice to roll on the throttle and rapidly accelerate all of the way up to the speed limit :D None of the vehicles we have quite the power ratio that the motorcycle does (not judging from the way it feels, anyway!), so I can never accelerate that quickly.

A friend said when you get on a powerful sportsbike and accelerate it’s like pushing fast forward on a VCR :P I can only imagine. I mean, reaching 100 mph in first gear? Shocking. Are your reflexes even that fast!?
