I was going to try to hunt up some pictures and post them but it seems like I am running out of time again on the computer.
It snowed today. We went to church in Bonn that translates the service into headphones into 5 different languages. It was a great sermon and the people were friendly
The guy who translated into English had a British accent.
What our last hosts said is ‘cheap’ German chocolate was delicious
Bread in Germany *is* as good as they say it is - meat or cheese with bread are common breakfast items in the two places we’ve stayed.
It would be easier to tell what time it is at home with an analog round watch - it’s 6 hours different here and you just need to look at the opposite side of the hour hand.
For some reason, German beds seem very warm even though the rooms are rather cool and they leave windows open a lot (even when it’s cold outside). They have a big bedspread in a sort of bag it for a top sheet (for lack of a better description).
And lastly, I wonder if Carol and I are not picking up some type of accent.Time (and my family!) will tell.
Bis später!

You are bringing back so many memories. If you’ve seen beds at my house they are similar with the feather comforter inside a cover and that’s all we have on our bed too. A carry over from my days in Germany and the only way to keep a bed made. Windows open, yep. I remember being at a ski slope and my dad coming in the room and throwing open the windows. NOT FUN!!
Brodchen, those bread rolls for breakfast. There is nothing on earth like them. Really, nothing. If you can find anyone to give you a hint at how to make them, PLEASE let me know. Too bad you can’t stow some in your suitcase for me like Heidi did for the Grandmother on the Alps. Ohhhhhhh. If you do, I’ll pick you up at the airport.
