…Is a window in my blogging dashboard by which I can quickly blog. Doesn’t “my blogging console” sound better, though?

I just sneezed. I think I have been sick all year so far! At least from the first few days in January till now.

Nice things happened this week. And unhappy things happened this week. I guess it’s like normal, typical weeks. We are halfway through our trip, but we have more than half the amount of concerts left that we started with. Matthew my brother said we have 10 concerts in 10 days in Florida. That is going to be exhausting! It’ll be good, though. It’s already warmed up a lot and here in South Texas it’s about 70 outside.

My laptop has been fixed and is waiting for me in Houston. I think I’ll get it Monday! It’ll be so nice to have it back.

I read a book called Mysteries of My Father. (Or “About My Father”?). It was about an Irish-American family back to 1878 or so that ended up in New Jersey. I don’t know if the marriage represented was an unsual one or not - it involved accusations of infidelity that pretty much chewed their relationship, plenty of yelling at each other, and contempt for each other. Threats to leave, attempted leavings of spouse, separate bedrooms, and on the whole what seems to me a horrible waste of life. I am sad for people like them. There must be plenty of them right at this moment.

They were married until the wife died, however, and her husband seemed to find some kind of repentance when she was diagnosed with cancer, cared for her and mourned when she died. What a tragedy to look back on a life and find that it was all spent in unlove. The father told his sons “You’re all I’ve got,” when he was accused by one of them of not loving them. Apparently he didn’t consider his wife any one to love.

His poor wife and her poor husband, and those poor children. A few times in the book the man writing says of his younger brother, “He was too young to understand Mom and Dad’s yelling.” (something like that.)
