Not to the bone, by any stretch of the imagination. I was cleaning a sliding mirror closet-door at work and I slide my hand right into the handle, which is made out of another piece of mirror attached to a bracket. I only know it went to the flesh because when I was cleaning it out and pushing the gouge shut, I saw a little piece of white stuff hanging out, and upon further inspection, I saw that it was from the inside of me. But don’t worry! It’s small and it’s already closed up pretty well.

It’s Friday!! (And I work tomorrow.) Seeing as a few weeks ago I would have been dying for this job, I need to grin and say “Yay!” I did get it scheduled for midmorning and I’m getting a ride, so I don’t have to worry about being up early in the morning.

This morning, after getting up at 7:10 to catch the 8:10 bus, I changed my mind to try to catch the 7:40 bus. So I rushed around and the laundry-change box coughed up four quarters and some dimes for me to take the bus one way to the stop that I normally get off the bus at. I watched a woman and her young daughter get on the bus. The girl was saying something in a put-on voice and broke off with a shy smile when she saw me looking at her. Then after a few stops, the mother remarked that the usual going-to-school crowd wasn’t on the bus, and asked the driver if there was any school today. He didn’t know. “There’s no holiday, unless there’s an administrator thing going on.They should have given a paper with the schedule.” The woman said, “They did. I didn’t look at it very good.” The driver laughed and said “I know,” as if he too had been given these schedules in the past and he hadn’t looked at them very thoroughly either. They got off a few stops before I did. When I got off at my stop, I saw a pink knapsack left in the front seat where they had been sitting.

Speaking of stops, I got off the bus a little early today. On a whim, I decided to go up the back road (which is basically a path that goes up the big hill in 2/3 to 1/2 of the distance milewise of the paved road). Last time I was going to go but chickened out and didn’t pull the cord. This time, I did. It wasn’t too bad. It took me 16 minutes. I need to go the regular way next time and see what the difference is. When I got to work, I was nauseated, though :( I need to go slower next time :P I think the problem was that I ate breakfast so early in the morning and then exercised so hard. But it’s hard to do the work without food in me. So I need to get up at 5am, eat breakfast, and then go back to sleep till go-to-work time?

A few minutes sitting around (off the clock!) got me back to normal, and I finished my work there about an hour earlier than I usually do.

With regular thorough housecleaning where I am the only person doing (most of) the housekeeping, I’m finding it a challenge to get everywhere at once without the time to get everywhere at once. For instance, this time I dusted some things that were dusty that I hadn’t gotten since the day I started working there. But there hasn’t been time other days to do that work. If I put things on a rotating schedule, it will still be turning out that part of the house is dusty for part of the time.

I also wonder, does anyone notice my housekeeping? I have to remind myself no, it’s not as if the little boy in this house runs up to his dad when he arrives home from school saying “Bonnie paired all of my socks and put my clothes away!!!” And the girls do not clasp their hands in front of their hearts and sigh as they admire the wonderful job I did cleaning the toilet. :P Yes, you can laugh at me.
