Today I went on another last minute cleaning adventure. They called yesterday and had me come today to clean today for a party they are having tomorrow. It was a lovely house and a great couple who live there. While I was cleaning, though, I was starting to have my doubts. I thought it would take 4 hours to do the job (before I had seen it), it took me 6 hours. As I ran around the bathroom doing last minute things, I wondered - Am I really cut out for housecleaning? Do some people have it, and some don’t, and I just don’t? How do I know if I’m getting the house clean enough? (Because believe me, there are *always* more things to clean in a house, even when you’ve done all you can in a day, unless the house is unusually immaculate or small.)
So I thought to myself, well, just hang in there, just wait and see how long it takes before someone comments on your cleaning. Not a minute later, my client’s daughter, who is visiting, arrives at the door downstairs. I hear her put her bags down and she sails into the house. “It smells so good in here!” (I wonder if she means the smell of the orange cleaner I’ve been using all throughout the house, or the candles the lady of the house has out.) “Who did you have clean in here! It looks amazing!” Back in with more bags. “Wow, it looks great.” She must have remarked on the cleanness of the house in a positive way three times, and I am not exaggerating! Later, after I finished the bathroom I came downstairs and met her, and she said she wished I could come clean her house, but she lives two and a half hours away.
So yeah, that totally made my afternoon
Probably made my whole month, as far as housekeeping goes

I’ve been doing great! Have you taken your SAT yet? I have no idea how much studying is involved in that.
LOL, I’ve cleaned house for people before. Not my favorite thing to do. I always feel uncomfortable cleaning for someone else because I can’t just do whatever I want and feel at home. Glad it’s working out well for you!

There is nothing like the satisfaction of a job well done! I too, wonder if anyone notices sometimes just at our house when a room pick up has been done. I guess they do…cause it gets filled up where I have made empty spots.
Such is life!
