Contrary to the rules of the library, I have brought in a thermos that is (was) filled with a berry shake; about 3/4 cup frozen blueberries and raspberries, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, and milk. It was very good!
They have a cafe down in entrance to the library, and there are lots of people who have coffee up here (and the security guards regularly walk around and tell people what they should not be doing), and no one cares, so I guess they won’t care about my sealed container of shake.
Last week I started working out again. I started with something that I knew would be challenging - pull up negatives. I used to be able to do at least 8 of these. When I tried to do one at the park, that’s all I could do – one. So I started with 5 sets of 6, with no set time of rest in between. Then I did a leg workout Tuesday, which went wonderfully (I discovered I can use the 26 lb kettlebell for squats and lunges!), and yesterday I did a complete upper body workout, which consisted of 12×5 knee pushups, 12-10-8-6-12 of shoulder presses, bicep curls, and tricep kickbacks. The 12×5 is just 5 sets of 12 repetitions, with one minute of rest between. The 12-10-8-6-12 is a pattern that is supposed to start with a lighter weight (for the 12 reps), heavier for the 10 reps, etc, until you reach your almost maximum at 6 reps. Then you get a little lighter weight and with no rest after the set of 6 reps, perform the same exercise to 12 reps. That is called a superset. I love that setup of reps/sets, but I wish I had a lot more weights! I only have two 5 lb dumbbells, along with an 8lb exercise ball and one 26lb kettlebell. I love the kettlebell, though!
Oh, I have some kind of exciting news, and that is that I have all of my classes set up for George Fox University (which, hereafter, may be referred to as GFU). I’m taking biology, chemistry, bible, Spanish, and weight lifting. It’s so exciting
I’ll not only have fascinating classes, but a whole weight room to play in.

I was introduced to kettle bell exercises by my ex-boyfriend. He is gone, but I kept the kettlebells
they’re amazing for calorie burning. Just wondering if there’s a more effective fat burning and muscle toning (building) train round? Btw, love the post!
