For those of you who are studying languages, allow me to introduce Unilang.org. This site has less organized lessons than livemocha.com but I get the feeling that these people are much more die hard fans of languages who are learning for fun. There are a lot of people there with 3 or more languages under their belt, and there is almost always someone in the chat room. There are resources for many languages. One that I found for German, for instance, are stories with the English and German next to each other, line by line. The range of languages here is also much more wide. They have many user submitted exercises and they also have their own wiki.

This morning’s recipe:

Grind 4 tablespoons coffee. (Or use already ground, like I did :D) Place in filter in coffee machine and fill with two cups water. Press the “On” button. Wait and enjoy the dripping/bubbling noise. Pour in cup with creamer. Drink. Enjoy.

Oh yeah, and get a free Iced Coffee at Dunkin Donuts on the 15th at participating stores! I’ll have to put that up in a post all by itself so people see it even if they don’t read my entire posts.

I am happy to announce that the owner of this blog is now having to walk long distances to find family members - upstairs, or across the house, etc. In the bus where we’re been for 9.5 weeks, you don’t have to go looking for anyone. If you just talk a little louder than normal, everyone in the bus can hear you!! I’ve been cleaning and emptying the bus with Carol. The fridge had to be emptied, everything with liquid in it will have to be taken out (or else it’ll freeze when we stop heating it).

When we drove into Connecticut there was hardly any snow anywhere. When we drove just a few miles out of CT there was snow in increasing amounts everywhere. At home there’s still snow in the yard and it’s raining now. It’s too nice to be home, however, to complain!!! I am having fun making lists of things to do and crossing them off. That is, after I finish them.

I got a letter while I was away (two, in fact). It was so nice to get letters! Does anyone even do that anymore? I used to a few years ago, but I think I’d like to start doing it again. Emails are good, but letters are different.

Once again I have to rave about Best Buy’s 3 Year Personal Service Plan (PSP.) Electronics break if you use them a lot. They have so many complicated and fragile components. So if you use you electronics, it’s worth it to get free repairs when the need arises. I’ve dealt with Best Buy’s repair people / The Geek Squad quite a few times about different issues and it has always worked out close to perfect. Once they shipped something to the wrong address (the one I gave them originally, but I had asked for a switch that they agreed to), and sometimes it takes a while for the repair work to get done (anything is long when you’re waiting for it!) but it’s so worth it. If you happen to get a very junky laptop and you get more than three repairs done (even on different parts), they’ll replace it under the PSP! Anyhow, the guy at Best Buy didn’t mind me spreading the word about their PSP, so I guess it’s fine to rave about it on my blog :D

Yes, I feel like one of those generic blogs that have nothing but ads on them. I’m not even sure why they exist. I think it might be automated, and they’re just trying to generate hits. But I’m not sure.

I’m not exactly trying to sell something, because I’m not affiliated with this company, but I do want to bring to light the glasses site zennioptical.com. If you wear glasses, definitely check them out. I got a package in the mail today, it’s been three weeks since I and my sister ordered. I bought two pairs of glasses for $8.99 each. Yes, you read that correctly, these are prescription glasses. I did have to have a prescription, of course, and the antiglare coatings were $4.99 each, which I chose to get. These are really trendy glasses that I probably won’t wear all of the time (I also have rimless that I bought from zenni for $32, and contacts that I bought elsewhere) so I didn’t want to invest much in them. They look, well, trendy, which means someday people will look at me and say “Oh, that is sooo yesterday,” but for less than 10 bucks a pop, it’s not too bad.

Here are pictures of the new glasses. The two black frames on me were $8.99, and the other ones on my sister were either $12.95, or $30, I can’t remember. Sorry for the windy hair, it is so windy where I’m at right now! (South Texas).
